She will share her passion and will make you taste 4 wines: a white, a rosé, a red and a Malepère in the cellars of this house which has a unique charm and is surrounded by Mediterranean plants (pines, cypresses, olive trees). Many anecdotes in a friendly atmosphere await you. His house, built in the 16th century, hosted several rich families in Languedoc before being taken over by the family Le Marié-Tallavignes almost a century ago. The semi-underground cellar has a natural freshness and humidity that guarantees optimal aging conditions for the wines. THE TERROIR On the 160 hectares of land surrounding the Château, 25 hectares are dedicated to the vineyard, on two appellations: AOP Malepère and IGP Cité de Carcassonne. AOP Malepère vines are located on sandy-gravelly terraces. This stony soil has the double advantage of restoring the heat stored during the day and to retain moisture from the soil to ensure excellent development of the vines and the ripening of the grapes. These terraces are well winded, ensuring a healthy harvest, and bringing freshness to wines. It is the preferred terroir of Cabernet and Merlot grapes. AOP Malepère is the most western terroir of Languedoc, which benefits from the mixed influences of the nearby Mediterranean and the Atlantic. Mediterranean warmth and Atlantic freshness meet, finesse and temperament combine. IGP Cité de Carcassonne vines are located on clay and limestone soils. The Atlantic grape varieties (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc) thrive just as well as the southern grape varieties (Grenache, Syrah and Viognier). The vines, with an average age of 25 years, are carefully cultivated with the greatest care and harvested in green in order to obtain the optimal ripeness of the grapes.
