Concert ,  Classical music at Carcassonne

  • The isdaT (higher institute of arts of Toulouse) is a nursery where the talent of young artists will flourish. Coming from different backgrounds, some of them thanks to Erasmus grants, they will be found after their studies in orchestras, as soloists, or as teachers in music schools. After the harps and clarinets, it is the turn of the flutes to make us discover beautiful pages written over the centuries for their instrument. The flute is certainly one of the oldest instruments created by man; we found a vulture radius pierced in several places to make an instrument almost 35,000 years ago! Simple wooden pipe pierced with a few holes, then fitted with a few keys, the flute benefited at the beginning of the 19th century from an even more sophisticated system, invented by Theobald Boehm. The instrument can then be made of metal and take on a dimension allowing it to approach romantic music and to compete with the other instruments of the orchestra. Sandrine Tilly, solo flute of the National Capitole Orchestra of Toulouse, professor at isdaT introduces us to her students. Solo, accompanied on harpsichord, duet, trio, quartet and more, they will make us hear part of the repertoire of the flute ranging from Bach to Bério, via Vivaldi and Verdi, without forgetting of course, the divine Mozart and his Magic Flute.
