Concert at Carcassonne

  • Nicolas Horvath and Triin Ruubel offer us a thread of Estonian music through composers who, like Bartok, Chopin or Grieg, have founded the basis of their work on the enhancement of popular music. From the St. Petersburg Conservatory, Heino Heller founded the Tantu School of Composition where he remained until 1940, when he became professor of composition at the Tallinn Conservatory. Eduard Tubin and student Arvo Pärt, living monument of Estonian music, but also Jaan Rääts and Lepo Sumera. Started with a piece by Erkin Tüür, the concert ends with pieces of the one that was his teacher, Jaan Rääts: filiation is thus buckled, not without making a last wink in the first era with the Estonian Waltz from Karl August Hermann. Nicolas Horvath pianist and composer Jaan Rääts honored Jaen Rääts for his 85th birthday by commissioning and recording a CD dedicated to the works of his students, including Toni Korvits and Erkki-Sven Tüür. Winner of many international awards, soloist and chamber musician, Triin Ruubel is also Principal Violin of the National Orchestra of Estonia whose Musical Director is Neeme Järvi. This concert is given as part of the twinning Tallinn / Carcassonne Thursday, October 17 at 20:30. An exhibition and conferences are also organized at the Fabrique des Arts. Rates: from 10 to 25 €
