  • In fine arts, it is always better to have some keys to read works and artists. Thus, when it comes to pictorial art, it is usual to link painters to a "painting school". Come to attend a conference presented by Marie-Laure Ruiz-Maugis, art historian Friday, January 17, 2019 at 17h on Dali. FSalvador Dalí (Figueras, 1904 - Figueras, 1989) He is considered one of the leading representatives of Surrealism, and one of the most famous painters of the twentieth century. He follows an academic training, and tries to different artistic currents. In Paris, he joins the surrealist group and meets his wife Gala who becomes his inspiration. During the Spanish Civil War, he first exiled to Europe before settling in New York. On his return to Catalonia, he draws from different sources: Renaissance painting, Dutch realism, Pop'art ... and takes inspiration from the scientific evolutions of his time to change his style. He invests to create and maintain his personal myth where life and work merge. Free
