Born in 1971, Evgeny Kissin began playing his first notes and improvised on the old family piano from the age of two. At 6 years old, he entered the Gnessine School of Music in Moscow and studied with Anna Pavlovna Kantor, who would be his only teacher. Child prodigy, he made his debut at ten in Mozart's Piano Concerto K 466 and gave his first recital at eleven ... Since then, he has performed on the biggest international stages (Carnegie Hall, Vienna Muzikverein, Barbican Center of London etc.). Concertist of excellence, he plays alongside prestigious orchestras (Vienna, New York and Israel Philharmonic, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Paris Orchestra, NHK Symphony Orchestra), conducted by Claudio Abbado, Vladimir Ashkenazy , Daniel Barenboim, Christoph von Dohnanyi, James Levine, Lorin Maazel, Lawrence Foster, Riccardo Muti, Seiji Ozawa, Carlo Maria Giulini, Georg Solti, Sir Colin Davis, Emmanuel Krivine, Mariss Jansons or Zubin Mehta… Throughout his career, Evgeny Kissin has received numerous prizes: Crystal from Osaka, Chostakovitch, Triumph, Herbert von Karajan, Edison Klassiek, Diapason d'Or, Grand Prix of the New Disc Academy in France. In 2006 and 2010 he won the Grammy Awards for best instrumentalist soloist and in 2002 the Echo Klassik soloist of the year award. Evgeny Kissin is the youngest pianist to have received the Musical America award for instrumentalist of the year. With one hundred and twenty-five musicians, the National Capitol Orchestra is one of the most brilliant French groups today.
