Originally from Haute-Marne, Christelle Carteret has been living in Carcassonne for 5 years. She studied at the National School of Fine Arts in Lyon then in Saint-Étienne before making photography her profession. Today, it is painting that she loves and that she presents to us. The “Color” exhibition is divided into two parts. The first presents a dozen paintings made before the artist's arrival in Carcassonne, offering various mixed techniques: collages, photos, acrylics ... The second part consists of around twenty paintings presenting an abstract work of color . These acrylics deal with the subject of color from a chromatic point of view, in a search for visualization of colors and their relationship between them. Thanks to this exhibition, the artist shares with us the emotions provoked by color, its subjectivity and objectivity, the perception we have of it, its impact in our societies beyond borders ... The caricatures and clichés that we attribute to him according to our rites and customs. One question: what is color?
