Exhibitions, fairs and open houses at Carcassonne

  • As part of the cultural component of the Lycée des métiers Charles CROS, the project "La pose impose! Portraits of students from the Charles CROS high school ”combining self-perception and its representation has been developed. This project is divided into three phases: installation sessions, appropriation of the portraits produced where the students “transpose” their world and finally the students “expose themselves” to the Chapel of the Dominicans. For the students, it is about integrating into an original and participative artistic experience and event which reconciles professional and cultural universe. Violette de Toulouse, visual artist, produced a series of portraits of the students of the Charles CROS high school. Violette de Toulouse is a designer, graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Toulouse, plastic art teacher in middle and high school and now retired. The portraits she creates are sketched "in situ". She begins by drawing the broad outline “I build”, she says, then attaches the details: the feet, the face, the hands before taking it all back, more meticulously, using different colors. I make sketches because it is fast work, I use oil pastel and acrylic paint. I used to do a lot of sketches in the workshop, little ones. Now I'm going out on the street and going to meet people ”Opening Thursday, January 30 at 6 p.m.
