For 5 days, 10 craftsmen present their creations at the Chapelle des Dominicaines, 17, rue de Verdun in Carcassonne. Mosaicist, ceramist, ironworker, stonemason, master glassmaker or feather worker, these actors of our living heritage, come to meet visitors to share their passion for these ancestral skills. They will also welcome several groups of pupils from the City's elementary schools, from CP to CM2 level, during 3 afternoons (29/03, 31/03 and 01/04). To complete this discovery of crafts, in partnership with the Garae, do not miss Thursday March 31, 2022, at the Auditorium, the screening of the film "A family story the NOT, potters of Lauragais" and the conference of Yvan Houssard, creator of the "Entreprise Patrimoine Vivant" label, which will contribute its expertise and its actions in favor of crafts, including the recognition of art masters as UNESCO Intangible Heritage. Presentation of the Dominican Chapel exhibitors: Denis Augé Stone charmer For 12 years in Fabrezan, another vision of stone freed from gravity. Lover of minerals and light, he expresses his quest for freedom through his spheres of pebbles. His signed works have found their place in the most beautiful gardens of the Côte d'Azur and the world (Europe, United States, Dubai, Japan...). Sigrid-Solveig Pasquer Creations in felted wool Long drawn to wool, felt is the material she works with passion. From thick, rustic rugs to supple, lightweight nuno felt clothing, she likes the possibility that felt offers to create seamlessly from raw or carded material, and the few materials needed: water, soap ... and a lot of elbow grease! Laurence Charras Mosaicist After studying interior design and ten years of professional experience in this field, Laurence CHARRAS was introduced to Roman and Byzantine mosaics (1998) following a trip to Italy. A new professional orientation follows where the mosaic naturally finds its place in interior and exterior fittings, including decorations and furniture. Claire Olive Ceramist She works on “biscuits” turned and baked by a company in Vallauris to create everyday tableware. Her job is to paint on each piece, freehand, the pattern that inspires her with edible paint, which she immerses in a bath of lead-free enamel before cooking them. Find all his creations in his exhibition workshop (32, rue des 4 chemins - 11000 Carcassonne). Elise Alignan Mosaicist The mosaic, a harmonious blend of materials, lines and colors. Nature is a source of inspiration for this artist. She likes to represent it abstractly or figuratively and to associate noble materials with recycled elements. After her professional training with renowned mosaic artists and at the Institute of Arts and Crafts in Revel, she opened her studio in the heart of the Bastide in Carcassonne. Sophie Voisin Ceramist Artisan ceramist for nearly 3 years, you can pick up her pretty tableware at the Patio des Créateurs, rue Armagnac, and come and meet her in her workshop in Carcassonne. “oQO” is round, a bit naive, it's hard-hitting too. In his oQO art ceramics, there is something instinctive, what moves him are the mineral hues, the organic grip, the elegance and the softness of the worked material left raw. Gines Aznar Ironworker Ironworker in Villeneuve Minervois, iron is his friend. He likes to bring it to life, that it flies away like its dragonflies, that it sings like its roosters, that it smells good like its poppies. He creates on demand or as he pleases, his creations are presented in his shop-workshop. Atelier La Marquise - 5 route de l'Aven - 11160 Villeneuve Minervois. Vincent Gattegno Master glassmaker With more than 20 years' experience in the field of glass and stained glass, this craftsman offers his expertise for any creation or restoration. He creates stained glass windows of all types, small custom-made decorative objects, mirrors, candle holders, medallions... Dominique Thomas Ceramist This craftswoman produces ceramics with personal lines and enamels, in her beautiful workshop in the Montagne Noire, located opposite the Pyrenees . You will find there, by appointment, ''tableware'' creations, but also ornamental pieces. His ceramics are on sale at the “La Cité Potière” boutique at 6 rue St Louis, in the Cité de Carcassonne. Yannick Delplace Plumassier He is one of the last feather-makers, an unknown know-how, belonging to the very discreet family of ennoblers who were essential to haute couture and cabaret artists. Today, he transmits these ancestral techniques in order to perpetuate this precious profession with multiple possibilities.
