A special space, installed in the heart of the museum, in the fireplace room, has been specially dedicated to this approach. This small living room allows you to take the time to observe, to discover an exposed painting, where the keys are given to visitors to understand and learn. For this first edition, the Museum of Fine Arts proposes to highlight a painting by the artist Jacques Gamelin (Carcassonne, 1738 - Carcassonne, 1803). Several exhibitions have been devoted to this essential figure from Carcassonne. Recognized as a painter of battle, his production remains nevertheless rich and varied. Moreover, a room in the museum is dedicated to his various portraits, genre scenes and battles.
