Exhibition at Carcassonne

  • In partnership with the Ministry of Culture, the Center des monuments nationaux presents a creation of the Module de Zeer, visual artist from the street-art from October 3, 2019 to April 30, 2020 within the Castle Comtal of the City of Carcassonne. Self-taught artist born in 1976 in Yvelines, Mehdi Cibille, aka The Module Zeer, works as a graphic designer since 1997. It begins in the empty lots and abandoned factories of the Hauts-de-Seine where industrial remains influence his work. In the early 2000s, he created his "Module", a set of black lines that constitute a complex branch. It is a falsely repetitive motif evoking a cellular development, the Mayan glyphs or version 2.0 of Jean Dubuffet's Hourloupe. The Zeer Module for Experimental Zone of Relative Expression carries both its own raw material, its own context, and its own composition. It self-generates in a system of repetition to infinity. Volatile, fluid, abstract, playful and dynamic, he settles where the surface welcomes him. Once assembled, this module recomposes light and gives the eye multiple interpretations. The seven pillars are installed in the courtyard of the Midi du château comtal and are composed of an evolution compression of the Zeer module. Information: From October 3, 2019 to April 30, 2020 Price: Entrance fee of the monument
