The Association "Les Amis de l'Abbaye de Saint-Hilaire" invites the public to come and discover an exhibition produced in collaboration with the Institut des Arts du Masque. The "Master of Cabestany", sculptor to whom the name of the place of this discovery was given, is today considered as one of the greatest creators of the Romanesque world. His sculptures are particularly present in the Aude, whether the sculpted sarcophagus of the church of Saint-Hilaire, the capitals and modillions located on the apse of the abbey of Saint-Papoul, the capitals of the church of Sainte- Marie de Rieux-Minervois, various sculpted elements from the old portal of the Sainte-Marie de Lagrasse abbey or even two capitals attributed to the workshop of the master of Cabestany which are kept in the archaeological museum of Narbonne.
