Programming of the Théâtre Jean-Alary Opera - Operetta In Vienna in 1845, Johann Strauss senior was at the height of his glory. His son Johann dreams of becoming a "king of the waltz" as well. But the old composer, out of jealousy no doubt, does not recognize any talent in him and thwarts his vocation. Junior is therefore reduced to composing in secret, while giving lessons for a living. He falls in love with Rési, his favorite pupil, the daughter of Ebeseder, the most famous pastry chef in Vienna. Countess Olga, who quickly fell in love with Johann's romantic charm, promises to help him become famous. That evening, Strauss senior gave a concert at the Casino d'Hietzing. The Countess manages to delay her arrival. Strauss Sr. is long overdue and the public is growing impatient. The manager convinces Junior to replace him at short notice. Johann is directing one of his works when his father appears. The old composer creates a scandal and declares to his son that everything is over between them. Sad but resolute, Johann goes back to the pulpit and conducts his new waltz "Le Beau Danube Bleu". Johann is now famous.
